Loomis was my great great uncle

Mr Loomis was an amazing guy.. His documentation of this eruption helped get the park established as a national park. He left my grandfather a ton of money.

Thanks for the video. Note: People from the Mt. Lassen area say we are from Northern California, not "NorCal". NorCal just sounds silly.

It is unfortunate that you are offended by a simple and harmless abbreviation for the northern half of our state. I was born long ago in the small town of Tulelake. I have lived most of my life in CA. I have lived in central coastal CA. I have lived in the northern edge of southern CA. I live now in northern CA, north of San Francisco Bay. I often, usually, abbreviate "northern California" as NorCal and see no problem with that. Just as I and millions refer to SoCal and NorCal as simple abbreviations.
